These 25 machines are the ones we sell for home use: 13 gas units from 2,700 to 3,400 PSI for driveways, decks and siding, and 12 electric units from 1,400 to 2,320 PSI for cars, patios and outdoor furniture, eleven of them on a standard 120 volt outlet. They come from Simpson, Pressure-Pro, BE Power Equipment and Kranzle and ship new from the manufacturer through High Pressure Car Washer, an authorized dealer for all of them. Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, to a dock or terminal on freight machines, and liftgate service is one flat fee.

Two things separate this page from the rest of the store. The price band, which starts near the cost of a weekend rental, and the pump: most of these units carry an axial pump sized for weekend use rather than the commercial triplex pump a crew runs every day. If the machine will wash for a living, start in commercial pressure washers; the Kranzle units here are the exception, commercial machines that homeowners buy for cars and detailing. Driveway pressure washers

Concrete and pavers want 3,000 to 3,400 PSI at 2.5 GPM, which is the gas units on this page: the Simpson Clean Machine and the Pressure-Pro Pro Power and Dirt Laser lines with Honda and Kohler engines. Add a surface cleaner and the driveway comes up even instead of striped, in about a third of the time a wand takes.

Decks, fences and siding

Wood and vinyl want the same 3,000 PSI class with a wider fan tip and more distance, or a 2,000 PSI electric unit up close. Two story siding is a gas job with an extension wand; a deck is either. Keep the tip moving on wood or it leaves marks.

Cars, boats and patios

Paint wants pressure under 2,500 PSI, a wide fan tip, and 2 to 3 GPM, which is why the electric units live here. The Kranzle K1622TS, K2017 and K2020T are commercial detailing machines on a standard outlet with a foam cannon fitting; the BE and Pressure-Pro electric units are the value picks for a car, a patio and the outdoor furniture.

Electric or gas for home use

Electric if the jobs are the cars, the patio and the grill, or if the machine lives in a garage and noise matters: no fuel, no exhaust, starts with a switch. Gas if the jobs are the driveway, the siding and the fence, or if the water is far from an outlet. Most homes end up with the 3,300 PSI gas unit for the big jobs and a foam cannon on it for the cars.

120 volt pressure washers

Eleven of the electric units here run on a standard 120 volt outlet; the Kranzle units need a 15 or 20 amp circuit as listed on each page. A 120 volt unit tops out near 2,000 PSI, which is plenty for cars and patios and light for a driveway.

Freight, delivery and returns on machines

Free freight to the lower 48. Machines ship new from the manufacturer by freight carrier at no charge to a commercial address with a loading dock or forklift, or to the carrier's nearest terminal for pickup. Orders are prepared within 0 to 1 business days and delivery takes 5 to 8 business days.

Liftgate service, $95 flat. No dock or forklift? Choose liftgate service when you add the machine to the cart. The carrier calls ahead to schedule, brings the crate to your address and lowers it to the ground with a liftgate. It lands at the curb or driveway, not inside the building. One flat fee per order, whatever the machine weighs.

On delivery. Inspect the crate before signing. Note any damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it. We file the claim with the carrier, and if a replacement is needed we ship it.

Returns. Unused machines in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. A 20 percent restocking fee applies and return freight is the buyer's responsibility, and a refused freight delivery is handled the same way, which is why we would rather confirm the model before it ships: send the job, the water and the power on site through the form on this page and we check the spec against the machine. What PSI do I need for a home pressure washer?
2,000 PSI electric for cars, patios and furniture. 3,000 to 3,400 PSI gas for driveways, siding, fences and decks. Above 3,400 PSI is contractor territory and adds nothing at home.
Electric or gas for home use?
Electric for cars, patios and anything near the house: quiet, no fuel, starts with a switch. Gas for the driveway, two story siding and jobs away from an outlet. Many homes run a 3,300 PSI gas unit for the big jobs with a foam cannon for the cars.
Can I wash my car with a pressure washer?
Yes, under 2,500 PSI with a wide fan tip, 12 inches or more from the paint, and a foam cannon for the pre wash. The Kranzle units on this page are what detailers use for exactly that.
Will a pressure washer damage my deck or siding?
It can at close range with a narrow tip. Use the widest fan tip, keep the wand moving, and start farther away than you think. Wood shows marks first; vinyl and brick take more.
Do I need a surface cleaner for my driveway?
A surface cleaner attachment cleans a driveway three times faster than a wand and leaves no stripes. It fits any of the gas units here. Surface cleaners are in the accessories collections.
What is the difference between these and the commercial machines?
Most residential units carry an axial pump sized for weekend use and a consumer grade engine or motor. Commercial machines carry a triplex pump rated for hours a day and cost accordingly. If the machine earns money, buy commercial.
Can a home pressure washer run from a garden hose?
Yes. Every unit here draws 2.9 GPM or less, which a standard spigot supplies. Use a 5/8 inch hose and open the tap fully before starting the machine.
How does shipping work on a pressure washer?
Shipping is free to the lower 48 states. Machines ship new from the manufacturer by freight carrier to a commercial address with a dock or forklift, or to the carrier's nearest terminal for pickup. No dock? Choose liftgate service when you add the machine to the cart, a flat $95 per order, and the carrier calls ahead and lowers the crate to the ground at your address. Orders are prepared within 0 to 1 business days and delivery takes 5 to 8 business days.
