Pressure Washer Surface Cleaners

Surface Cleaner Attachments for Concrete, Driveways and Flatwork

A surface cleaner is the attachment that turns a pressure washer into a floor machine: two nozzles spin under a hooded disc, the hood traps the spray, and a driveway comes up even in one pass instead of striped by a wand, in about a third of the time. The six pressure washer surface cleaners here run from a 15 inch homeowner unit to 20 inch industrial cleaners rated to 4,500 PSI and 8 GPM, from Simpson, Pressure-Pro and Kranzle. All ship new from the manufacturer through High Pressure Car Washer, an authorized dealer for all three, with free shipping to the lower 48 states.

Size the cleaner to the machine. A 15 or 16.5 inch cleaner runs on a 3,000 to 4,000 PSI residential or light commercial unit at 2.5 GPM or more. The 18 and 20 inch cleaners want a commercial machine at 4 GPM or more; the 20 inch Hammerhead and Simpson 80182 are rated for 8 GPM units. Every cleaner here uses a 1/4 inch quick connect except the Kranzle UFO, which uses the Kranzle bayonet. The guide under the products covers commercial versus homeowner cleaners, concrete versus pavers and the machines each size needs, and the machines themselves are in pressure washers.

Surface cleaners for concrete and driveways

Flat concrete, pavers, sidewalks, garage floors and pool decks are surface cleaner jobs. The spinning bar keeps the nozzles at a fixed height so the pressure is even across the path, which is why the result has no stripes and why a cleaner runs three times faster than a wand. Use a 15 degree or 25 degree pattern for concrete, and keep the cleaner moving on pavers so the joint sand stays put.

Commercial surface cleaners

An 18 or 20 inch cleaner with a steel or aluminum housing, greaseable swivel and replaceable nozzles is a commercial tool that runs every day behind a 4 GPM or larger machine. The Pressure-Pro PP-SC18 and the 20 inch Simpson 80182 and Pressure-Pro Hammerhead are the commercial units here, rated to 4,500 and 4,000 PSI and built for 8 GPM flow.

15 and 16.5 inch surface cleaners

The Simpson 80165 at 15 inches and 80625 at 16.5 inches are the homeowner and light commercial cleaners: they run on a 3,000 to 4,000 PSI machine at 2.5 GPM and turn a Saturday driveway into a half hour job. The Kranzle UFO flat cleaner rolls on wheels and fits Kranzle machines with the bayonet lance.

Matching the cleaner to the machine

Two rules. The cleaner's rating must exceed the machine's PSI, and the machine must deliver enough flow to spin the bar: about 2.5 GPM for a 15 inch cleaner, 4 GPM for 18 to 20 inches. An underpowered machine leaves a slow, streaky pass. If the driveway is the daily job, the 4,000 PSI 4 GPM class in gas pressure washers is the machine to pair.

Pressure Washer Surface Cleaners questions, answered

What size surface cleaner do I need?
15 to 16.5 inches on a residential or light commercial machine at 2.5 GPM or more. 18 to 20 inches on a commercial machine at 4 GPM or more. The 20 inch industrial units are built for 8 GPM.
Will a surface cleaner work with my pressure washer?
If the cleaner's rating exceeds the machine's PSI and the machine delivers enough flow to spin the bar, yes. All the Simpson and Pressure-Pro cleaners here use a 1/4 inch quick connect; the Kranzle UFO uses the Kranzle bayonet.
Can I use a surface cleaner on pavers or wood?
Pavers yes, keeping the cleaner moving so the joint sand stays. Wood decks with care and a wide pattern on a lower pressure machine. Concrete, brick and stone are the natural jobs.
Why does my surface cleaner leave stripes or stop spinning?
Not enough flow, a clogged nozzle, or a worn swivel. Match the machine's GPM to the cleaner size, clean the nozzles, and grease the swivel on commercial units.
How does shipping work on accessories?
Shipping is free to the lower 48 states by ground. Orders are prepared within 0 to 1 business days and delivery takes 5 to 8 business days. Accessories ordered with a machine ship separately by ground while the machine goes by freight.
Are these sold by an authorized dealer?
Yes. High Pressure Car Washer is an authorized dealer for BE Power Equipment, Cam Spray, Kranzle, Makinex, Pressure-Pro and Simpson, and everything ships new from the manufacturer with its factory warranty.
What if the part does not fit my machine?
Unused accessories in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. A 20 percent restocking fee applies and return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, so check the connection and the pressure rating on the product page first, or call (219) 327-1138 and we confirm the fit.
