Hot water pressure washers clean what cold water only moves around: grease on a shop floor, hydraulic oil on heavy equipment, road film and diesel soot on a fleet, fat and protein in a food plant. Heating the water to 180 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit breaks the bond between the grime and the surface, so a crew finishes the job with less pressure, less detergent and less time. Every hot water unit here is a commercial machine, meaning a triplex plunger pump, a Schedule 80 heating coil and a frame built for daily use, and it ships new from the manufacturer through High Pressure Car Washer, an authorized dealer for all six brands the store carries. Hot water units come from four of them: Pressure-Pro, BE Power Equipment, Cam Spray and Kranzle. Shipping is free to the lower 48 states, to a dock or terminal on freight machines, and liftgate service is one flat fee.

The collection runs from portable gas units with diesel fired burners, through all electric hot water machines for indoor wash bays, to diesel pressure washers, machines with a diesel engine as well as a diesel burner, built as truck and trailer skids at 8 gallons per minute. If you already own a cold water machine, a pressure washer hot box adds the burner without replacing the pump. Cold water and gas units without a burner live in gas pressure washers and electric pressure washers, and the full commercial range is in commercial pressure washers.

Find the right hot water machine below. Start with how the unit will be powered and where it will live, then match the flow rate to the job. The buying guide under the products explains PSI, GPM and burner fuel in plain terms.

How to choose a hot water pressure washer

Three numbers decide the machine. PSI is the force that lifts the dirt, GPM is the flow that carries it away, and temperature is what turns grease from a smear into something that rinses. For most commercial cleaning, flow matters more than pressure: a 4 GPM unit at 3,500 PSI clears a truck faster than a 2.5 GPM unit at 4,000 PSI, and an 8 GPM skid clears it faster still. Match the flow to your water supply, because a machine cannot pump more than the tap delivers.

Electric, gas or diesel hot water units

All electric hot water machines such as the Kranzle Therm and the BE electric series run indoors with no exhaust and suit wash bays, food plants and detail shops on 220 volt or three phase power. Gas engine units with a diesel fired burner, the Cam Spray 4040QB class, need no outlet at all and go wherever the truck goes. Diesel engine skids such as the Pressure-Pro Pro-Super Skid burn one fuel for engine and burner and are built for fleet yards and oilfield service trucks. See the full lineups in electric pressure washers, gas pressure washers and diesel pressure washers.

Skid, trailer or portable

A skid bolts into a truck bed or onto a trailer and stays there, which is the right answer for a mobile wash business or a fleet that washes at more than one yard. A portable unit on wheels is the pick for a single site, a farm or a dealership lot. If the water and the machine both stay put, a wall mount electric unit keeps the floor clear.

Burner fuel: diesel, natural gas or none

Most hot water units heat with a diesel fired burner, and a 12 volt version can run its burner controls from the truck battery. Natural gas heated units such as the BE HW255E1CNG connect to a building's gas line and never need fuel delivered, which suits restaurants, dairies and indoor bays. If you already run a cold water machine you like, a hot box adds a diesel burner between the pump and the gun.

Hot water versus cold water

Cold water handles dirt, mud and loose material. Hot water handles anything oily, greasy or organic, and it sanitizes in a way cold water cannot. If the surface leaves a film on your glove, buy hot water. The commercial pressure washers collection holds both so you can compare them side by side.

Hot water versus steam

A steam capable unit runs the burner hotter and the flow lower so the water leaves the nozzle as wet steam above 250 degrees. That is the setting for degreasing engines, stripping gum and grime from equipment, and sanitizing food surfaces where pressure would do damage. The Kranzle Therm series and several Pressure-Pro Dirt Laser hot water units carry a steam mode; they are grouped in steam pressure washers. For a fleet or a yard, hot water at full flow cleans faster than steam; steam is a specialist setting, not a bigger hot water machine.

Hot water machines we recommend by job

These four picks are the machines we would put on the truck for each job, chosen on flow rate, power available on site and how the unit travels, the three decisions the guide above explains.

BE HW3524HA12V for fleet washing

The BE Power Equipment HW3524HA12V hot water skid moves 8.5 GPM at 3,500 PSI with a Honda GX690, the flow rate that gets a tractor trailer done before the coffee cools.

Pressure-Pro SK40005VH for contractors

The Pressure-Pro Dirt Laser SK40005VH is a 4,000 PSI hot water skid with a 570cc Vanguard engine and water up to 250 degrees, sized for a truck bed and a full day of heavy equipment.

Kranzle K2175TST for indoor shops

The Kranzle K2175TST Therm hot water electric pressure washer runs on 220 volt single phase, can run in steam mode, and is the detail shop and service bay answer with no exhaust.

Cam Spray 4040QB for sites with no power

The Cam Spray 4040QB gas powered hot water pressure washer needs fuel and a hose, nothing else, and rolls on 13 inch wheels across a yard or a job site.

Freight, delivery and returns on machines

Free freight to the lower 48. Machines ship new from the manufacturer by freight carrier at no charge to a commercial address with a loading dock or forklift, or to the carrier's nearest terminal for pickup. Orders are prepared within 0 to 1 business days and delivery takes 5 to 8 business days.

Liftgate service, $95 flat. No dock or forklift? Choose liftgate service when you add the machine to the cart. The carrier calls ahead to schedule, brings the crate to your address and lowers it to the ground with a liftgate. It lands at the curb or driveway, not inside the building. One flat fee per order, whatever the machine weighs.

On delivery. Inspect the crate before signing. Note any damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it. We file the claim with the carrier, and if a replacement is needed we ship it.

Returns. Unused machines in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. A 20 percent restocking fee applies and return freight is the buyer's responsibility, and a refused freight delivery is handled the same way, which is why we would rather confirm the model before it ships: send the job, the water and the power on site through the form on this page and we check the spec against the machine. Full terms are on the shipping policy and return policy pages.

Hot Water Pressure Washers questions, answered

How hot does a hot water pressure washer get?
Most commercial units heat to between 180 and 250 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the burner and the flow rate. The temperature is adjustable on the machine, and the specification on each product page lists the maximum.
Do I need a hot water machine or just a hot box?
If you already own a commercial cold water pressure washer with a pump rated for the flow, a hot box adds a diesel fired burner between the pump and the gun and turns it into a hot water unit. If you are buying new, a purpose built hot water machine is the simpler, more compact package.
Can you run hot water through a cold water pressure washer?
Not from a tap or a water heater. Cold water pumps are rated for inlet water up to about 140 degrees and the seals fail above it. The right way to get hot water is a purpose built hot water machine, or a hot box mounted after the pump so the water is heated on the outlet side.
Which is better, an electric hot water unit or a diesel burner?
Electric motors are for indoor use with no exhaust and need 220 volt or three phase power. A diesel fired burner heats the water on either type of machine. Diesel engine skids run engine and burner on one fuel and belong outdoors or on a truck.
What PSI and GPM do I need for fleet washing?
Flow does the work on large surfaces. A 4 GPM machine at 3,500 PSI handles pickups and vans; 5.5 to 8.5 GPM units clear tractor trailers, buses and heavy equipment far faster. Match the flow to the water supply on site.
Can a hot water pressure washer run on a generator?
Electric units need a generator sized for the motor's amperage and starting load, which is usually impractical. Gas and diesel engine units carry their own power and only need a 12 volt battery for electric start and burner controls.
How does shipping work on a hot water skid?
Shipping is free to the lower 48 states by freight carrier to a commercial address with a dock or forklift, or to the carrier's nearest terminal. No dock? Choose liftgate service when you add the skid to the cart, a flat $95 per order, and the carrier calls ahead and lowers the crate to the ground at your address. Orders are prepared within 0 to 1 business days and delivery takes 5 to 8 business days. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.
Are these machines sold by an authorized dealer?
Yes. High Pressure Car Washer is an authorized dealer for Pressure-Pro, BE Power Equipment, Cam Spray, Kranzle, Simpson and Makinex, and every unit ships new from the manufacturer with its factory warranty.
Should I rent a hot water pressure washer or buy one?
Rental makes sense for an occasional job. Commercial hot water units rent by the day plus fuel and pickup time, so a crew that washes two or three days a month pays for its own machine inside a year. Buying also means the unit is on the truck when a job appears.
What if I order the wrong machine?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unused units in original packaging. A 20 percent restocking fee applies and return freight is the buyer's responsibility, which on a skid can run several hundred dollars. That is why the spec request on this page exists: tell us the job, the water and the power, and we confirm the model before it ships.
